No team had fewer yards receiving in the NFL last season than the Cardinals (2,884). Only the Bills (271) and Seahawks (280) had fewer receptions than Arizona (283). When it came to touchdown receptions by wide receivers, the Cardinals were tied with the Jaguars for the second-fewest (15), ahead of only Buffalo (13).
As much as all three of those areas fall on the head coach, the offensive coordinator, the offensive line and the quarterback — all of which were inept in 2018 — it was clear to team President Michael Bidwill and General Manager Steve Keim that the Cardinals desperately needed an upgrade at wide receiver.
