The Arizona Cardinals placed wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Trent Sherfield on the reserve/COVID-19 list, according to an announcement Thursday. The designation means they have either tested positive for the virus or come in close contact with someone who has contracted COVID-19.
Earlier earlier in the day it was reported by NFL Media's Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero that Fitzgerald has tested positive for COVID-19 and would miss Sunday’s game at the Patriots.
On Tuesday, the Cardinals announced they had placed safety Deionte Thompson on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
On Wednesday, Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said the team was fairly confident, due to contract-tracing protocols, that Thompson would be the only player to go on the reserve/COVID-19 list, saying, “We feel pretty good about where we’re at right now.
