Phil Dawson hasn’t had to do much kicking this season, but the Arizona Cardinals kicker might not be kicking this weekend either. He currently has a hip injury that could sideline him for the near future.
So, to combat this problem, the Cardinals added kicker Matt McCrane to the practice squad on Friday. He is a rookie out of Kansas State and also challenged Dawson in training camp for the kicking job.
When McCrane was cut, many felt he should have been the choice to win the job over Dawson. McCrane had done everything asked of him during the preseason.
