It was around this time last year that the Arizona Cardinals doled out a large contract for the free agent guard Justin Pugh. In dire need of talent across the offensive line, the club’s front office managed to lure him away from the New York Giants, where he performed well. However, the jury is still out on whether that acquisition was a smart expenditure or not.
Pugh was brought to the desert to help improve an offensive line that was among the leagues worst in 2017. The veteran was signed to a five-year, $45 million contract, including $13 million in guarantees, that he did not perform up to during the 2018 season.
