He’s such a quiet and soft-spoken gentle giant, you’d never know Mike Iupati has been carrying around a heavy load that’s almost as big as he is. And at 6 feet 5, 355 pounds, the Cardinals’ starting left guard is pretty big.
“You try not to listen to the outside noise, but he wants to be great and he’s heard some of the things people are saying,” coach Steve Wilks said.
Some of the things Iupati heard weren’t very nice. Whether it was name calling from faceless critics on social media or blunt scrutiny from national pundits, it all started sounding the same after a while.
