Unless you’re one of the lucky ones – the slickly groomed quarterback or the elite-level prospect who can’t miss – they don’t make any promises in the NFL that you’re going to stay at the same position you played in college.
Wide receivers have been turned into cornerbacks. Corners have been molded into safeties, and so on. It’s the way the Cardinals have been doing things for the past five years now under coach Bruce Arians and his staff.
They call it position flexibility and if you have it, you get to stay and make the most of it.
