DeAndre Hopkins is nearing a contract extension with the Arizona Cardinals, according to a report from NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport tweeted Saturday: "Sources: The #AZCardinals and star WR DeAndre Hopkins are closing in on an agreement on a contract extension to properly compensate their star. Hopkins did the deal himself."
The details of the contract extension are not yet known.
Hopkins entered Saturday ninth on the list of the highest paid wide receivers in the NFL with an average annual salary of $16.2 million.
Hopkins is under contract for three more seasons on a deal that will pay him $12.
