If Chandler Jones is staging a holdout, he isn’t saying so publicly. The Cardinals aren’t saying anything, either, but here we are.
Jones, the Cardinals’ All-Pro outside linebacker who has been one of the best pass rushers in he NFL, did not attend the start of the team’s three-day mandatory mini-camp on Tuesday and he is not expected to participate on Wednesday or Thursday, according to coach Kliff Kingsbury, who had little more to say on the subject.
Veteran inside linebacker Jordan Hicks also skipped Tuesday’s on-field session. After the Cardinals selected Zaven Collins with their first-round selection in the draft and then proclaimed him the starting MIKE linebacker over Hicks, Hicks received permission from the team to seek a trade elsewhere.
