It’s not like there’s anything riding on Steve Keim’s immediate five-week suspension.
Well, nothing other than running back David Johnson’s incredibly significant contract negotiations. Or that rookie quarterback Josh Rosen might actually outperform veteran Sam Bradford in training camp. Or the fact that the team is incredibly thin at the tight-end and linebacker positions and likely is in need of help with some veteran free-agent additions.
Yeah, nothing is really riding on Keim’s suspension except for maybe the very future of the Arizona Cardinals.
In any other year, Keim would be there to save the day with his subtle nuances and expertise as a longtime NFL executive and, for the past five seasons, a cunning general manager with an eye for talent and master at hard but smart, decision-making principles.
