The 49ers plan to interview Cardinals Player Personnel Vice President Terry McDonough for their general manager position on Friday, an NFL source confirmed.

McDonough has been with the Cardinals four years, including the past three in his current role. He oversees pro and college scouting and assistants with player contracts.

McDonough has spent 25 seasons in the NFL and was with the Browns, Ravens and Jaguars before joining the Cardinals. As vice president, he replaced Jason Licht when Licht left to become the Buccaneers' general manager.
