In tonight's Arizona Cardinals news update, Justin Bethel has found quite the niche for himself as a Pro Bowl special teams player with the Cardinals.
However, per Jess Root of Revenge of the Birds, Bethel's confidence at his natural position of cornerback is starting to turn some heads as well - leading to speculation that he could crack the team's rotation at the positions with sheer effort.
"He's starting to get his hands on balls," Arians told reporters, via Root's article. "He’s playing a lot more confidently and you can see it in the way he walks around the locker room. I think having gone to the Pro Bowl added some swagger to him, which he needed desperately.”
Bethel has played defense for the team before, as he saw a ton of reps in the secondary at last season's OTAs.
However, the likely scenario for 2014 would be that Bethel will add depth to the defensive back corps - with the possibility that he could work his way into a starting role in 2015 if Antonio Cromartie leaves via free agency.
