The Arizona Cardinals have emerged as one of the elite teams in the NFL so far with a 3-0 start, and we have no doubts that their momentum will continue and carry them to the playoffs and beyond. Here's 4 Reasons Why The Cardinals Are GUARANTEED To Make The Playoffs.
4) Top-shelf secondary
Patrick Peterson is one of the best CBs in the NFL, and still hasn't reached his ceiling. Justin Bethel could be in for a breakout season, and the safety position is deep and talented with Tony Jefferson, Rashad Johnson, and Tyrann Mathieu, who forces turnovers and makes plays all over the field. There's also last year's first-round pick, Deone Bucannon, who has looked better this season. In a pass-happy league, Arizona has the best group of players to defend it.
3) Larry Fitzgerald
He's back! Fitzgerald is getting into a major rhythm once again with starting QB Carson Palmer (more on him later), once again creating major matchup problems for any and all cornerbacks and safeties unlucky enough to cover him. The defense is what makes this team go, but they're going to get plenty of rest with Fitzgerald extending drives thanks to his massive catch radius.
2) Bruce Arians
One of the most respected and offbeat head coaches in the entire NFL, there's no denying the hold Arians has on the locker room. He's a master game-planner with a unique ability to accentuate positives and paper over weaknesses. Just look at all the adversity he pulled the Cards through just to get them to the playoffs last season. Ordinary coaches would have buckled. Arians is not an ordinary coach.
1) Healthy Carson Palmer
Arizona fell apart down the stretch last season when Palmer went down with a knee injury, proving that he's the most valuable player on the roster. He's come back stronger than ever and has been the best quarterback in the league so far in 2015, throwing for 802 yards and nine touchdowns. As a result, the Cardinals have the league's top offense (42 points per game) to go along with their dominant defense. If they can keep this up, no team in the league will stand between them and the Lombardi Trophy.
