BOONE, N.C. — The weather was once again overcast and drizzly, but that wouldn’t stop Appalachian State University women’s soccer from holding their annual Black and Gold Scrimmage on Sunday night at Appalachian Soccer Stadium.
“Our primary objective was to (one) look at the chemistry between players because we’ve been working hard and really competing a lot in preseason,” head coach Sarah Strickland said. “The other objective was to figure out once we saw where the chemistry was, what does that look like for a formation. We’ve traditionally played a 4-3-3 but this spring we played a 4-4-2.
