DURHAM, N.C. - It came down to the final match, but Appalachian State University women’s tennis (6-10) won its second contest in a row with a thrilling 4-3 victory over North Carolina Central (3-11) Sunday afternoon at NCCU Tennis Courts.
“This was a great win for us on the road”, said head coach Colin Crothers. “If it was earlier in the season, we may not have won this match, but the team dug deep and pulled through. The freshmen stepped up today and McKayla’s match that clinched the victory was huge. I’m proud of the squad today!
