BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's tennis travels this weekend to the Georgia Southern Shootout hosted by the Eagles in Statesboro, Ga. Oct. 12-14.
Appalachian will compete against GS, Winthrop, Emory, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, North Carolina A&T, Savannah State and Savannah College of Art & Design.
The tournament will consist of eight singles flights and four doubles flights.
App State captured a singles title from María José Zacarias, as she went 3-0 en route to her first fall championship at the Jimmy Powell Invitational last weekend. Kate Earnhardt also advanced to her singles flight title match but fell in a tough three-affair.
