CHARLESTON, S.C.- Appalachian State University women’s tennis (4-12) won the doubles point and grabbed two singles wins, but it wasn’t enough in a 4-3 setback to College of Charleston (8-4) on Thursday evening at Patriots Point.
The Apps won the doubles point in thrilling fashion taking two out of three matches. Heidi Swope and McKayla Zupan claimed their team-leading seventh win of the season with a 6-3 triumph as the No. 2 duo over Rachel McNeely and Turner Yates. Gabrielle Wreder and Megan Mullen would fall in their match to Liza Fieldsend and Christi Woodson, 7-5, leading the doubles portion to a 1-1 tie.
