RALEIGH, N.C. - Despite the final results, App State women's tennis put forth a solid effort in a 6-1 setback to No. 8 NC State on Monday afternoon at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
App State falls to 0-1 and the Wolfpack improves to 5-0.
Highlighting the day was newcomer Sasha Pisareva. Playing in her first match as a Mountaineer, she upended No. 18 Anna Rogers in a matchup in the No. 1 slot. Pisareva won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, handing Rogers just her sixth loss this season dating back to the fall and snapping a three-match win streak.
