BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Appalachian State University women’s tennis (4-11) fell to Gardner-Webb in a tightly-contested 4-3 setback on Saturday at the GWU Tennis Courts in Boiling Springs, N.C.
Appalachian captured the doubles point winning all three matches, but the Bulldogs (9-13) came back to take four of six singles matches and the contest.
Gabrielle Wreder and Megan Mullen picked up the 6-1 victory over Daniela Naupari and Sandra Bolstad as the No. 1 duo to get App off on the right foot. Melissa Machado and Taylor Bygrave clinched the doubles point and the 1-0 lead thanks to the 6-4 win over Mary Walker Mixon and Miljana Ristic.
