Women's Soccer Falls to South Alabama

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's soccer (7-7-1, 4-3 SBC) suffered a narrow 1-0 setback to South Alabama (7-8, 5-3 SBC) on Sunday afternoon at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.

Appalachian controlled possession for majority of the game and held an 11-6 edge in shots.

The defense held USA to just six shot attempts, which is the lowest number of shots the Jaguars have attempted during conference play, while its three shots on goal tied a low in league action.

Sunday's difference was a South Alabama penalty score by Brenna McPartian in the 44th minute of the contest.
