BOONE, N.C. - App State women's soccer was clicking on all cylinders in a dominating 6-0 win over UNC Asheville on Sunday afternoon at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.
The Mountaineers (1-2-1) registered their first victory of the season in an offensive outburst, tallying their most goals since the 2013 campaign when the Apps scored nine against the Citadel. It was a day of firsts for the Black and Gold, as six different athletes scored for Appalachian with five players scoring their first collegiate goal.
"To get a shutout, to get a win at home, have six different players score and every player get to play significant minutes is a huge," head coach Sarah Strickland said.
