From first team all-Sun Belt guard Justin Forrest’s last-second game-winning three-pointer against rival Georgia Southern to O’Showen Williams’ 32 point performance on 10 made threes, App State basketball finished an exciting 2019-20 season with their best record since 2009-10.
In head coach Dustin Kerns’ first season at the helm, the Mountaineers finished 18-15 overall and 11-9 in Sun Belt play. The 11 conference wins are App State’s most since 2009-10 when the team was in the Southern Conference. The Mountaineers joined the Sun Belt in 2014. This year, App State also went 6-4 in conference road games for the first winning conference road record since 2009-10.
