BOONE, N.C. — App State's Demetrius Taylor is one of 25 players who has been named to the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, which goes to the nation's top defensive end.
Taylor, a senior from Miami, has three sacks in the Mountaineers' first three league games. He recorded two sacks against Arkansas State before adding another at Texas State, and his 16.5 career sacks rank 18th among active FBS players.
Taylor also has five quarterback hurries, 4.5 tackles for loss and 14 total stops this season.
The Ted Hendricks Award is named in honor of college football's first three-time first-team All-American.
