BOONE, N.C. – It's been quite a couple of days for App State golfer Timothius Tirto Tamardi.
The junior from Surabaya, Indonesia was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference second team Thursday, a day after he finished runner-up at the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and then became the first golfer in school history to be selected to compete at the NCAA Championships.
Tamardi has helped improve the Mountaineers' team since arriving in fall 2019. Last week, he tied for fifth individually at the Sun Belt Championship while leading App State to its best-ever team finish (sixth) since joining the league in 2014-15.
