Sun Belt Announces 2016 Football Schedule

BOONE, N.C. — The Sun Belt Conference announced its 2016 football schedule on Thursday, a slate that includes at least two nationally televised games for Appalachian State University.

Coming off a Sun Belt-record 11-2 campaign, second-place conference finish and Raycom Media Camellia Bowl championship, Appalachian State opens league play on Saturday, Oct. 1 at home against Georgia State. The Mountaineers also host Sun Belt contests versus Idaho (Saturday, Oct. 22), Texas State (Saturday, Nov. 5) and UL Monroe (Saturday, Nov. 19).
