GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hot off his second-place tie in the 62nd Eastern Amateur a few weeks ago, Appalachian State rising junior Tripp Summerlin is back at the top of the leaderboard in this week's 94th Carolinas Open.
Summerlin currently sits atop the leaderboard of 58 golfers that made the cut, at 8-under. This was helped by a second-round 6-under 65, the best score to par on day two. Summerlin has been on cruise control since the 13th hole in his first round, avoiding a single bogey since, good for the longest streak in the tournament.
