CHARLESTON, S.C. – The App State softball team ended the Charleston Invitational with a run-rule of Ohio, taking down the Bobcats 9-1 in six innings. The Mountaineer bats exploded for a season-high 13 hits en route to their ninth win of the season.
The Bobcats scored their only run in the second inning off a sacrifice fly to left field. The Mountaineers would then answer in the top of the third as Gabby Buruato tripled to start the inning. Mary Pierce Barnes singled to bring her in.
App State would score three more in the fourth after an RBI single from Buruato.
