GREENSBORO, N.C. – The App State softball team competes in its final weekend tournament before Sun Belt play, taking on Oakland, Dayton and UNC Greensboro in Greensboro. The 2020 Spartan Classic takes place from Feb. 28-March 1.

The Mountaineers went 2-3 at the Charleston Invitational, beating Charleston Southern, 2-0 and Ohio, 9-1. App State fell to Bradley, North Carolina A&T and College of Charleston. The Mountaineers currently sit at 9-5 on the season.
Against the Buccaneers, pitcher Sydney Holland gave up two hits and struck out six in her fifth win.
