BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University softball will travel down to Decatur, Ga. to take on Georgia State, their second conference opponents of the season, in a weekend series March 25-26 at the Robert E. Heck Softball Complex. Conference play will begin on Saturday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday with a single game at noon.
The Mountaineers (12-13, 0-3 Sun Belt) are coming off a 1-1 split with UNCG on Wednesday, edging the Spartans 2-1 in game one and slipping to the SoCon squad 11-9 in the nightcap. Jenny Dodd, Cara Parker and Ally Walters all blasted the ball over the outfield fence for home runs, and Walters registered a career-high of two homers and six RBI including her first grand slam.
