BOONE, N.C. - The Appalachian State Mountaineers and the No. 11 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns went six scoreless innings before finally breaking the ice Friday night. In the seventh, the Mountaineers were unable to match Louisiana and fell by a score of 3-1 in game one of the weekend series.

Kenzie Longanecker suffered the loss in the circle bringing her record to 14-4 with a 2.08 ERA. Through six innings, Longanecker gave up no runs and allowed only 5 hits and four walks.
