Appalachian State won the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in dramatic fashion for the second straight season, beating Toledo 31-28 in a highly competitive game. The win was App’s 10th of the year, improving their record to 10-3 on the season. Toledo, who never led, had a chance to tie the game with 1:48 left, but missed a 30-yard field goal attempt wide right.
Success in the Run Game:
Taylor Lamb and Marcus Cox provided all the offensive punch the Mountaineers needed, combining for 269 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Lamb was selected as the Bart Starr MVP, finishing the game on 14-32 passing for 119 yards and a touchdown to go along with another touchdown and 126 yards rushing.
