BOONE, N.C.- Appalachian State University women's basketball sophomore Bayley Plummer garnered a second postseason award on Tuesday, as she was named second-team all-state by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA).
Plummer collects the award after posting a breakout season where she more than doubled her numbers across the board from her freshman campaign. She nets the second-team all-state honor along with her Sun Belt All-Third Team award.
The Thomasville, N.C., native led the team, the Sun Belt and was 13th in the nation in rebounding with an average of 11.5. The rebounding clip was the fifth highest in a single season in program history, while her 355 rebounds set a sophomore record, surpassing the previous sophomore mark of 328 set by Valorie Whiteside in 1985-86.
