BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The App State women's track and field team opened competition Monday at the Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships with a conference champion and silver medalist in the women's 5,000 meters, a second-place finish in the women's distance medley relay, and a school record in the women's 60 meters. At the close of the first day, the Mountaineers were third in the team standings.
Senior Jasmine Donohue garnered gold in the women's 5,000 meters, stopping the clock at 16:40.61. Following close behind was Emma Russum, who secured silver with a personal best of 16:41.
