STATESBORO, GA. – Appalachian State (13-6) completed its first ever Sun Belt sweep with a 6-5 win over Georgia Southern (13-10) in eight innings on Saturday.
Eight of nine Mountaineers had a hit in today's game with Cayle Kifer leading the way, going 3-3 against the Eagles. Ally Walters helped the Mountaineers as well with her second homer of the season.
Haley Stewart saw plenty of action on defense. She was responsible for all three outs in the first inning with an unassisted double play and a groundout. Stewart gathered eight putouts in the field against the Eagles.
