MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Just two minutes into the second half of play on Friday, Bridget Donovan took the insert from Florine Koopman off the penalty corner and slapped the ball past the Chippewa goalkeeper to tie things up at one apiece.
Donovan's goal helped spark a string of three unanswered goals scored by the Mountaineers (6-4, 2-1 MAC) in the second half to lead them to a 3-1 road win over the Central Michigan Chippewas (1-8, 0-3 MAC) on Friday. App State held possession from the second period on, outshooting the Chippewas 27-2 in the contest and didn't allow a single shot after the first period.
