BOONE, N.C. —Appalachian State University’s football coaches and student-athletes received their 2015 Raycom Media Camellia Bowl championship rings during a team meeting at the Appalachian Athletics Center.
The rings feature Appalachian State’s “Block A” logo and the words “Camellia Bowl Champions” encrusted with diamonds on the face. On one side, is the recipient’s name and the Mountaineers’ 11-2 record. The other side includes the Camellia Bowl logo, the words “1st Bowl Win” and the 31-29 final score from Appalachian’s thrilling triumph over Ohio in Montgomery, Ala.
“We’ve been anxiously waiting for the rings to arrive, so when they came in this week, we decided to surprise everyone with them today so they could take them home and show them off this weekend rather than waiting until after the break,” head coach Scott Satterfield said.
