ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Appalachian State University wrestling will compete in the 2016 Arby's Southern Conference Wrestling Championship on Saturday hosted at Kimmel Arena.
All eight Southern Conference schools will be represented with one wrestler from each school competing in each of the 10 weight classes. The NCAA has allocated 13 spots to the NCAA Wrestling Championships to the Southern Conference that will be up for grabs on Saturday.
The Mountaineers (12-4, 6-1 SoCon) finished the regular season with a share of the Southern Conference title along with Chattanooga and Gardner-Webb. App State is searching for its first SoCon Tournament title since the 2002-03 season.
