SAN MARCOS — Appalachian State University baseball could not avoid the series sweep vs. Texas State on Sunday in its first Sun Belt road series of the season. The Mountaineers (4-16, 0-6 Sun Belt) were held scoreless for the second-straight day, falling to the Bobcats (16-4, 6-0 Sun Belt), 4-0.
The Mountaineers looked as if they would get on the board in the first inning when Beau Myers reached on a throwing error by the shortstop. Caleb McCann singled through the middle of the infield, moving Myers over to third.
