CONWAY, S.C. – Appalachian State University baseball would threaten multiple times but fell short of bringing home runs as it fell 5-0 to No. 24 Coastal Carolina at Springs Brooks Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
The Mountaineers (19-34, 8-20 Sun Belt) were led by Tyler Stroup and Brian Bauk at the plate with both of them going 2-for-4. Bauk also finished with a double on the day.
The Appalachian pitching staff performed well as Matt Schaeffer got his second start of the season, tossing three no-hit innings to start, striking out three batters in his 6.
