BOONE, N.C. — App State's offense, pitching and defense were clicking on all cylinders Monday in a doubleheader sweep of East Tennessee State in the Mountaineers' first home softball games of the season.
App State (11-10) won game one 12-3 in six innings before shutting out the Buccaneers (4-14) by a 13-0 score in the second game behind a five-inning no-hitter from Kaylie Northrop. The senior from Richland, Wash., tossed the fourth no-hitter in program history to earn her fifth win of the season.
