MONROE, La. – Juan Correa blasted his league-leading 11th home run of the season highlighting an early onslaught from the App State offense on its way to a 14-2 win in eight innings over ULM on Friday.
Timely two-out hits paved the way for a strong start from the offense. Correa lined a two-run double to left-center with two outs in the first inning to score Dillon Moquin and Joseph Zamora and give the Mountaineers a 2-0 lead.
In the second inning, Graham Smiley and Riley Luft reached on back-to-back one-out singles, and with two away, Zamora plated a run with a single and Kameron Miller slapped a two-run double into the right field corner to push the lead to 5-0.
