ST. LOUIS, Mo. — App State's Jonathan Millner, who made the quarterfinals at the NCAA Championships, still has a chance for All-America recognition as one of 12 wrestlers left in the 149-pound bracket.
After the night session begins Friday at 8 p.m. ET, Millner (15-2) will face Duke's Josh Finesilver (9-4) in a "Blood Round" match in which the winner is guaranteed a top-eight finish.
Seeded seventh, Millner went 2-0 on the opening day of competition Thursday and dropped a 5-2 decision against unbeaten No. 2 seed Austin O'Connor of North Carolina, as O'Connor improved to 11-0 this season and 69-7 in his career.
