Miller’s Historic Home Run Leads App State Past Western Carolina

BOONE, N.C. – Sophomore Kameron Miller blasted a go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning and App State made timely defensive plays late to edge Western Carolina 7-6 at Smith Stadium on Wednesday.

After giving up the lead in the top of the sixth when Western Carolina (16-16, 2-4) scored three runs to take a 4-3 advantage, App State (17-15, 7-5) responded in a big way in the home half of the inning. Graham Smiley reached on an infield single to begin the inning and with one out, Dillon Moquin reached on an error.
