BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Appalachian State University men's soccer (6-2-2) fell to UAB (4-6-2) in a tight-knit affair, 1-0, on Wednesday evening in Birmingham, Ala. at BBVA Compass Field.
The Mountaineers and Blazers played an even match where both teams had the same number of shot attempts (8) and shots on goal (6). However, the only difference was UAB's goal by Adam Brooker in the 87th minute that gave UAB the eventual win.
"Tough one tonight to lose in the final five minutes," head coach Jason O'Keefe said. "Credit to a well-coached team in UAB.
