Boone, N.C. -- The Appalachian State men's soccer team recorded its first win of the season, taking down back-to-back regular season Patriot League champion Loyola Maryland, 2-1 Sunday night. Kelan Swales and Nick Rogers scored their first goals in an App State uniform to clinch the victory.
The Mountaineers are now 1-1 on the season. Loyola Maryland falls to 0-2.
The second half was the deciding factor for the Mountaineers, scoring both goals a minute apart in the 48th and 49th minute to start the second half.
