BOONE, N.C. -- App State men's basketball finished second in the nation amongst Division I men's basketball programs in the 2020 NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Community Service Competition that ran through the spring semester.
The Mountaineers saw a 100 percent participation on the team and totaled over 1,000 hours of community service. App State posted more hours than the likes of Texas A&M, Miami and Michigan.
Head coach Dustin Kerns and the Mountaineers have emphasized giving back to the community. The program partnered with Blowing Rock Elementary school to create pen pals and visited the school in February.
