BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State's Kendall McGowan was named first-team All-Coastal Plain League on Thursday.
Playing for his hometown Forest City Owls, McGowan won the league's regular-season batting title with a .392 average and finished the regular season with elite-level totals for on-base percentage (first at .480), doubles (first with 20), stolen bases (third with 22), slugging percentage (third at .642), hits (third with 58) and RBIs (fifth with 36).
As a freshman at App State in the spring of 2018, McGowan started 42 times in 47 appearances and had the team's third-best average.
