BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State softball fell to the Georgia State Panthers in game one of the Sun Belt series on Friday, April 13. Kenzie Longanecker had a season-high ten strikeouts against the Panthers in her complete game.
Longanecker was able to strike out seven of Panthers' batters, three of which had multiple strikeouts in their at bats. Longanecker forced Georgia State to leave seven runners on base and escaped a bases-loaded inning in the top of the sixth.
Georgia State's four runs came from a solo home run from Ivie Drake in the top of the third inning and a three-RBI homer from Skylar Mosel in the fourth inning.
