App State football defensive coordinator Dale Jones has left the program, per Matt Fortuna of The Athletic Nov. 28th. The departure follows the Mountaineers finishing 6-6 on the season and 3-5 in Sun Belt play along with the streak of seven consecutive bowl games ending
Jones spent 26 years on the Mountaineer staff, acting as defensive coordinator the past three seasons. During this past season, App State allowed 347 yards of offense per game and teams averaged 5.31 yards per play against the Black and Gold.
Teams converted 42.3% on third down situations, ranking 101 out of 131 teams.
