ATLANTA, Ga. –– Tyrell Johnson turned in a career night, finishing with 22 points, while three others finished in double-figures, however, it wouldn’t be enough and Appalachian State University men’s basketball would fall to Georgia State 83-72 on Monday night.
Johnson was an efficient 6-for-8 from the floor, including a stellar 10-for-11 at the foul line en route to his career night. The 10 free throws made were a career-best for Johnson. The sophomore also grabbed three rebounds and tallied one block in the effort.
The Mountaineers (6-12, 1-6 Sun Belt) got off to a lightning fast start to open the game, beginning 4-for-5 from the field leading to the first media timeout.
