BOONE, N.C. — Representatives of Ingles attended Tuesday's home baseball game to present a $500 check as a donation to the Boone-based Hunger and Health Coalition, with the total tied to the offensive accomplishments of Appalachian State's baseball team this season.
With three games left in the regular season, the Mountaineers have posted 430 hits as a team. The donation from Ingles, a proud supporter of App State Baseball, will basically equate to $1 for each hit recorded this season.
The check presentation, accompanied by a cermonial first pitch, occurred before Tuesday's game against UNC Asheville.
